Makeup and Pictures

I just got my makeup and pictures done the other day.  It was so much fun.  I will definitely be doing it again in the near future.  I love getting all dolled up.  Next time with lots of dresses!

Determination, Persistence, Success

Determination, Persistence, Success

Keep steadily before you the fact that all true success depends at last upon yourself. Theodore T. Hunger

I start every Monday thinking it is going to be the best week ever . A great start to a great week is a great workout. It makes your body feel strong, your mind feel strong and gives you the energy you need to get moving in the right direction.

Diet. A great week includes a great diet. Again, gives you the energy you need to accomplish great things, complements your great workout and feeling good about what you eat also shows pride in your well being. Obviously your diet effects how your body looks, and I truly think that how you look on the outside has an effect on how you feel on the inside.

Powerful positive thinking throughout the day. As most people I enjoy a good motivational quote. I won’t lie, I LOVE them. I think a quick reminder of the path you are on and the goals you wish to achieve are little things that can keep you on track. Just like the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people. The old saying, together we achieve more is so true. Nobody is an island, everyone needs a little support, encouragement, and praise. When you have a good network of friends, family or coworkers who either share your goals and ambitions or who cheer you on its that little extra something that can give you a boost on days you may be feeling more sluggish than others.

The twin sister to a good workout….a good night’s sleep. I almost feel like I start thinking delusional thoughts when I am going on very little sleep. To the contrary, a good nights rest, followed by the routine above…gym, strong feelings of body and mind, positive thinking…gives me the energy to feel like I can conquer my world by accomplishing all I set out to do that day/week.

And it’s as simple as that.

Just bought blogging for Dummies

So not only do I hardly read, because I never have time even though I do Love books and can go through them rather quickly when I do. I just don’t have the time. I don’t know if I should even admit this, because it’s something I probably thought I would never do, but I just bought my first for Dummies book. It may have been a huge waste of money, that I could have spent on a bottle of wine, but just maybe I’ll learn something. I’m not exactly literate in this whole WordPress thing, since it’s only been a matter of days, but I’m anxious to be at full speed ASAP…wish me luck!

FOOD

I have to say, I really watch what I eat.  I must say it might be to the point of obsession I think about food A LOT and I read EVERY label.

That being said, I think I make some pretty good choices.  I love when I find a new product that fits perfectly into my diet. The top three examples of things I will be eating today, all of which I discovered within the last year, and all of which are good for you.

Whole Wheat 100 calorie sandwich flats–I LOVE these things–can’t get enough. There are now different brands (Arnold, Pepperadge (sp) Farm, etc) with only 100 calories and about 5 g of fiber they are good for you and make great toast or sandwiches. I love to make a sandwich with turkey, a slice of low-fat cheese melted in the george Forman grill. It’s like a panini but rather than a fattening, carb loaded, sandwich from a deli you know exactly what is going in your mouth and it tastes GREAT.

Emerald Almonds 100 calorie packs. My favorites are cocoa and cinnamon; They are a perfect snack, crunchy, flavorful, good fats, vitamin E, with a little protein, fiber and low carb. Excellent.

Chobani Greek yogurt. Great taste, great flavors, great for you. With about 140 to 160 calories, 15 g of protein way more than regular yogurt, and extra creamy. While I typically do not like yogurt with fruit on the bottom this is my exception. I love the strawberry and mango. Stay away from the pomegranate unless you are prepared for crunchy (seeds) in your yogurt. Also not crazy about honey, but there is also lemon, blueberry, peach, vanilla, etc.

Be Fabulous Dream Big

Great hopes make everything great possible. Benjamin Franklin

My new mantra as of the past year or so, positive thoughts yield positive results. It’s so true, while nothing has really changed in my life I’ve never been happier. I feel empowered, I feel strong, I feel unstoppable, I feel like I can do anything.

With a single thought, the idea that all your dreams can and will come true, what happens next is life changing. It starts with a thought, then a plan, then action and viola it’s yours. Although I haven’t quite gotten to the “it’s mine” stage it’s there, I can see it, I can tough it, I can taste it…and that’s all I need to propel me forward.

Hello World

Just added the WordPress app to my iPhone…seriously how did we live before smart phones and apps? I get automatic access to multiple email accounts, Facebook and Twitter. I’m instantly notified when I’ve been outbid on EBay. Don’t know the name of a song? Easy, just Sahazam…then with the touch of a finger purchase it on iTunes so you her it on your phone and have your music at the gym. Receive automatic weather alerts, find the nearest pizzeria, gas station, ATM machine, get the phone number and directions to anywhere. Heck, my phone could tell me how to get to Alaska by foot. My hotels.com app can tell me where to stay, and book my room, on my way. Technology is life altering and amazing….let’s just hope I don’t lose service on my walk to Alaska…because I don’t know anymore if I can live without it. On second though, I should probably book a flight, from my phone of course, to Florida. That way I know I can still tweet from the hot tub.
